Community Fund to match donations to High Peak Foodbank

Paul Bohan at Zink HQ

Zink, the High Peak charity that runs High Peak Foodbank, has been selected for support from British Airways, who will match donations made via Crowdfunder before 25 October.

The funding will be used to provide meals and a warm place for struggling families this winter.

As well as help into work and benefits and housing advice, Zink run a wide range of activities to bring people together to learn, be active and challenge themselves.

The Community Eco-Café at Zink HQ provides mouthwatering meals from Wednesday to Friday from midday until 2pm. The café will be open after school on Tuesdays to feed struggling families in a warm place and Zink are seeking funding for this.

British Airways Better World Community Fund has offered to match donations penny for penny up to £250.

If £20 is donated, Zink receive £40, £250 becomes £500. To qualify, donations must be made before 25 October.

Paul Bohan, CEO at Zink, said: "We are seeing more families struggling with living costs and genuinely concerned about getting through this winter so we are happy to open up Zink as a warm place to welcome them in.”

As well as a home cooked meal, families will be encouraged to play board games and other activities together. There will also be space for older children to do homework in peace with laptops available if necessary.
