Council leader issues update on resident parking permits

High Peak Borough Council leader Councillor Anthony Mckeown has issued an update on resident parking permits.

He says people may have been expecting a permit for the Resident concessionary parking scheme in their Council Tax bill, which is currently being posted out to households.

However, this year there are no new permits as the permits issued last year are valid for two years and don’t run out until March 2022.

The resident concessionary parking permits allow each household to park one vehicle free of charge at any council car park from 8am to 12pm and 3pm to 6pm Monday to Saturday and all day on Sundays.

People can get more information on the scheme by visiting https://www.highpeak.gov.uk/article/711/Resident-concessionary-parking-scheme
