Covid-19 testing sites in Glossopdale

Mobile sites are still in place for people working and living in Glossopdale to get a coronavirus test and help stop the spread of the virus.

The sites will be offering PCR tests which are sent to a laboratory for analysis.

It's at Gamesley Sports and Community Centre on Melandra Castle Road from 9am to 5pm on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Then it's situated in the car park at Glossopdale School on Newshaw Lane in Hadfield on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 2.30pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 3pm.

People should book a slot online at https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or by calling 119.

Everyone is welcome, whether they have symptoms or not.

Done by taking a swab of the throat and nose, the PCR test is the most reliable test for Covid-19. Children under 11 should be helped by an adult.

Results are usually returned within one to two days and help to keep track of cases, including new variants of Covid-19.
