Developers cannot reduce number of affordable homes

A developer's bid to reduce the number of affordable homes that need to be provided within a housing site in Chinley has been rejected.

Wainshomes North West wanted to reduce the number of affordable homes for the second phase of the development on land at Forge Road.

Documents to support the application state that a high level of abnormal costs mean the site is currently unviable for work to continue.

High Peak’s Development Control Committee determined there was insufficient evidence provided for them to change the conditions of the planning obligation.

Plans approved

Plans that have been given the go ahead and approved by High Peak Borough Council include:

  • Proposed garage at 7 Lee Vale Drive, Charlesworth
  • Demolition of existing conservatory and single storey extension on same footprint at 10 Queens Drive Glossop
  • Single storey rear extension 7 The Green, Simmondley

Plans submitted

Several planning applications have been submitted to the borough council recently, which include:

  • A single storey extension to the front and creation of a new entrance further along Spring Street for a property at 2 Cooper Street, Glossop.
  • Conversion of integral garage to habitable accommodation, demolition of existing conservatory and new extension on footprint of former conservatory at 4 Bramble Bank, Glossop.
  • First floor side extension and single storey rear extension at 16 Heatherlea, Dinting Road, Glossop.
  • Extension of existing detached garage and partial conversion to home office room at 9 Greenfield Close, New Mills.

The plans are available to view on the council’s website www.highpeak.gov.uk
