Dinting Delighted With Derby Day Win

The sun shone down on a glorious weekend in the Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League

 

Division One

Dinting v Whaley Bridge

Whaley Bridge won the toss and elected to bat first but were bowled out for 88, S Mehta taking 6-28. Dinting made light work of the chase, finishing one wicket down with S Mehta on 39.

New Mills v Hayfield

New Mills won the toss and elected to field as they saw Hayfield reach 254-1. G Wood scored an unbeaten 117 and G Davies an unbeaten 98. New Mills were 163 all out in reply. C Firth making 38 as C Winfield took 4-29 and H Haworth 3-15.

Woodley v Broadbottom

Woodley won the toss and decided to bat, ending the innings on 151-9. D Kay and G Wood both scored 32 as J Riley took 3-35. Broadbottom cruised to victory for the loss of two wickets thanks to 50 from A Walsh and 62* from J Brotherton.

Mottram v Dove Holes

Mottram won the toss and elected to bat first ending on 148-9. S Fielding scored 71 as D Gilbride took 4-44 and D Cartledge 3-45. Dove lost five wickets in reply, but made it home thanks to 86 from D Gilbride.

Division Two

Tintwistle v Hazel Grove

Hazel Grove won the toss and chose to have a bat and were bowled out by their hosts for 149. D Hann made 33, as R Nixon took 5-36.

Tintwistle managed to reach the target for the loss of three wickets as K Davies made 54*, J Smith took 30 and R Nixon 30*.

Stalybridge St Paul’s v Newton

Newton won the toss and elected to bat ending 116ao. A Harwick took 4-24 and J Brownhill 5-16.

Stalybridge won the game by six wickets as R Wright made 40 and A Harwick 39*.

Birch Vale v Old Glossop

Birch Vale won the toss and chose to bat, ending on 198 all out. W Freeman made 30 and L Kennedy 74 as James Wright took 3-57.

Old Glossop fell seven runs short of the win in reply as Jonny Wright made 65, J Sagar 39 and A King 40 with P Trueman taking 3-61.

Buxworth v Hadfield

Buxworth won the toss and elected to bat, ending on 49 all out. L Doyle took 5-19 and L Mooney 3-10. Hadfield didn’t lose a wicket as they raced to a win.

Division Three

Offerton v Chapel

Chapel elected to bat and made 181 all out. J Gyte scored 62 and A Hibbert 77 as B Hinks took 5-44 and R Mugi 3-33. Offerton were 69 all out in reply as C Beal took 5-20.

High Lane v Mottram 2XI

High Lane were put into bat and were 171 all out. J McCarthy scored 46 as J Collinson took 4-37 and A Dyson took 3-15.

Mottram were bowled out for just 143, with A Dyson making 38 as G Noon, M McCarthy and A Knowles took three wickets each.

Charlesworth v Pott Shrigley

Charlesworth elected to bat and ended on 181-7. E Morley scored 46 and G Evans 61 as R Anderson-Fitter took 3-46. Pott Shrigley were bowled out for 118 in the chase, M Jackson top scoring with 31, as D Wood and E Morley took four wickets each.

Newton 2XI v Hollingworth

Hollingworth won the toss and elected to bat first, ending 128 all out. T Conway made 31 and M Knight 42 as A Grant took 4-25. Newton were bowled out needing just 17 to win as J Mellor took 5-34.

Division Four

Old Glossop 2XI v Birch Vale 2XI

Old Glossop won the toss and elected to bat, ending on 259-4. J Cannon struck 77, D Acomb 54, A Dwyer 53 and R Barrow 43.

Birch Vale could only reach 189 all out in reply. W Hall made 30, S Burns 51 and G Wyatt 30 as D Hall and D Acomb took three wickets each.

Dove Holes 2XI v Tintwistle 2XI

Dove Holes won the toss and elected to bat first reaching 240-6. R Hawkes made 35, R Johnson 38, A Critchlow 45, M Turner 32 and B Bagshaw 44*. Tintwistle were 172 all out in reply despite 56 from M Lilley and 34 from S Morris.

Hayfield 2XI v New Mills 2XI

Hayfield were put into bat and were 153 all out. A Oldfield struck 36 and D Aldridge 66 as C Mills took 3-39 and U Ali 5-36. New Mills were bowled out needing just 20 to win as J Gregory made 32 and M Ruffel 40. R Rowland took 5-31 and D Aldridge 4-28.

Broadbottom 2XI v Woodley 2XI

Broadbottom won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 175 all out. T Jackson made 36 and N Jackson 58, as D Hotson took 3-33.

Woodley reached the target for the loss of just four wickets as B Qasim made 50, R Bamford 54 and G Pickin 37*.

Division Five

Buxworth 2XI v Pott Shrigley 2XI

Buxworth conceded the fixture.

Chapel 2XI v Offerton

Offerton were put into bat and ended 92 all out thanks to 4-8 from P Jones. Chapel made it home for the loss of seven wickets in a nervy chase as N Pearson made 49* and M Iftikhar took 4-24.

Hadfield 2XI v Stalybridge SP 2XI

Stalybridge elected to field and bowled Hadfield out for 134. J Dooley and M Connolly taking three wickets each.

Stalybridge made it home for the loss of six wickets. A Dale made 45 as R Ball took 3-20.

Hazel Grove 2XI v Dinting 2XI

Dinting elected to bat first ending 123 all out. J Billingham took 4-36. Hazel Grove made it home for the loss of seven wickets with S Pigeon scoring 35 and J Percival taking 4-36.

Whaley Bridge 2XI v

Charlesworth 2XI

Charlesworth won the toss and elected to bat ending on 201 all out. S Morren making 93 and A Smith 32 as Z Mason took four wickets. Whaley Bridge were 71 all out in reply as K Thornley took three wickets.

Hollingworth 2XI v Compstall 2XI

Hollingworth won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 188-8. M Nasser hit 46 and J Schofield 30. Compstall could only manage 92 in reply despite 30 from E Norburn as M Nesser took 3-4 and D Morris 4-4.
