A development of 83 new homes in Dove Holes - a mixture of houses, bungalows, and flats - has been given the go-ahead by councillors.
Applications for homes to be built on the site on Hallsteads had previously been approved but had lapsed.
The new proposal, however, was disappointing to some members of High Peak Borough Council’s Development Control Committee, although the mix of homes to include bungalows was welcomed.
Councillor Stewart Young said he was present when the earlier application was passed when a shop was included as part of the plans.
“There are no facilities in Dove Holes whatsoever and I am disappointed and know it is down to market forces.”
A number of letters of objection had been sent raising those concerns and also the impact of the additional homes on the school and local roads.
Councillors approved the application after adding a condition for the developers provide electric vehicle charging points.
