Five drivers were caught speeding on a busy road in Charlesworth in the latest community speed watch event.
The Hadfield Community Speed Watch team were on the A626 Marple Road, near to the recreation ground, on Friday afternoon (5 August) between 1.50pm and 2.50pm.
During that time, a total of 435 vehicles went by the team in both directions - where the speed limit is 30 miles per hour.
On this occasion, five of those vehicles were recorded driving above the speed limit, at more than 35 miles per hour.
The drivers/vehicle owners will receive a letter of advice about their speeding.
Glossop Police Safer Neighbourhood Team thanked the two volunteers for taking the time to complete the event.
Speed Watch is a community-based, education-centred scheme that helps ordinary people make a significant contribution to improving traffic safety in their local area.
Police say the risk of death is approximately four times higher when a pedestrian is hit at 40mph rather than at 30mph.
