The school’s ‘Night of Stars’ was held at Glossopdale School and proved a wonderful red carpet event.
It celebrated the achievements and hard work of all the students in their final year at the Glossop primary school. It was a special occasion where pupils were recognised for their contributions to the school community. The evening began in The Heart with an opportunity to mingle and have professional photographs taken.
The official photographer captured all the youngsters in their finest formal evening wear. The event was to recognise the efforts and abilities of all the Year 6 students and was an opportunity for their parents to reflect on the journey the children have travelled during their time at ‘Dukes’.
Once the officials, guests and participants had taken their seats in the auditorium, Mrs Bland opened the proceedings. The children all walked down the red carpet to take to the stage for a beautiful rendition of the Steps song, ‘Reach for the Stars’. The staff then each presented awards to the children for Physical and Adventurous Education, Arts, Maths and Science and Technology in various guises. Mr Williams was joined on stage
by the Year 6 ensemble to sing the Take That hit, ‘Rule the World’ before awards in the categories of Humanities, Modern Foreign Languages, English and Attitudes and Behaviour were presented.
The evening closed with a picture show of all the children at various ages since starting at the school reinforcing how far they have all come, followed by a rousing rendition of the Love Inc. song ‘You’re a Superstar’. It was a magnificent evening and it was clear to see how proud the
parents and staff are of all the children.
