The first training exercise of the season for Glossop Mountain Rescue Team turned into a lifesaving mission following a collision between a car and a motorbike.
While the team was carrying out the exercise on Sunday (26 September), their link vehicle operating from Snake Summit was approached by numerous members of the public asking for help.
Members of the team immediately made their way to the scene and were able to carry out vital, lifesaving treatment.
Within 10 minutes of the team arriving, the North West Ambulance Service helicopter was approaching.
Team members were then able to handover to the critical care paramedics. Police and fire service were also in attendance to help with traffic management and road safety.
Glossop MRT said they would like to thank the off-duty nurse who was with the casualty before they arrived, and would also like to thank the members of the public who helped to supervise with traffic flow until the police arrived.
