Supporters will be able to double their donation to the High Peak Foodbank at no extra cost from Wednesday (17 November).
Donations made on Crowdfunder to local charity Zink and High Peak Foodbank will be matched pound for pound thanks to the National Emergencies Trust.
Paul Bohan, CEO at Zink, said: "The matched scheme run by Crowdfunder is a great way for people to see their donations go much further.
“For every £10 donated, High Peak Foodbank receives £20; that means more families in dire situations can be helped towards a better future.”
High Peak Foodbank provides emergency food parcels to families in crisis situations. Once at the foodbank, recipients can get help from an advice worker at Zink to sort out the problem that caused them to need emergency food aid.
They can also get help from one of Zink’s work coaches to move into a job and have plans in place to include wellbeing activities like music therapy, baking and other creative pursuits to address issues of isolation and mental health.
As a result of the extra support offered at Zink, foodbank demand reduced in the five years before the pandemic whereas nationally it increased by 79 per cent according to the Trussell Trust.
To take part, you must donate on www.crowdfunder.co.uk from 17 November 2021; search for High Peak Foodbank at Zink.
Any donation you make up to £250 will be matched by the National Emergencies Trust.
