Fears over cuts to card scheme

What’s seen as a lifeline to young people in Tintwistle should be protected from the cash cuts.

That’s the plea from the parish council which has fears over the future of Derbyshire County Council’s b-line scheme.

The discount card project, which brings lower bus fares and other benefits, is believed to be facing cuts.

Parish councillors believe Tintwistle card holders are particularly vulnerable because of where the village is.

Cllr Pat Jenner said: “Where we are our people have to go by public transport.”
