Fire crews from three High Peak stations battled a moorland fire on Tintwistle Low Moor on Saturday evening (19 March).
They were called out just after 7pm to the fire, which was approximately 300m x 500m in size.
After the warm weather during the day, strong winds made it challenging for crews to prevent the spread of the flames - which could be seen from across Glossopdale.
But crews from Glossop, Chapel and Whaley Bridge managed to bring the fire under control using beaters and Forced Air Extinguishers.
The fire was out by 8.50pm and crews then came safely off the moor.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
