First Glossopdale patients invited to book a flu jab

A patient receiving their flu jab at Lambgates Surgery in Hadfield last year.

The first flu vaccination clinics have been arranged for eligible patients at Glossopdale GP surgeries.

As ever, the surgeries which make up the Glossop Primary Care Network will be providing flu vaccines which will soon be arriving.

The Glossop Primary Care Network - established in 2019 - comprises of Manor House Glossop, Howard Medical Practice, Cottage Lane Surgery in Gamesley, Simmondley Medical Practice, Lambgates Health Centre and Manor House Hadfield.

Two clinics are now available to book on but are for high-risk patients only.

The first is on Saturday 11 September from 9am to 6pm at Glossop Cricket Club for any patients aged 65 or over.

The second is on Saturday 18 September from 9am to 6pm at Glossop Cricket Club for any patients aged 65 or over, and anyone aged between 18 and 65 with an underlying health condition.

Glossop Health Team is expecting a huge uptake this year and is therefore encouraging patients to book an appointment as soon as possible.

This can be done by booking online via patient access through your surgery or by ringing your surgery.

When attending the appointment, people are being reminded to wear a face covering unless medically exempt, wear clothing that can be easily removed for vaccination and attend alone where possible. But people should not attend if they have any Covid-19 symptoms.

Glossop Health Team say all healthy people aged between 50 and 64 will be invited at a later date.
