A dozen volunteers from Glossopdale Foodbank attended Run North West's Summer 10K run, helping more than 3,000 participants.
Glossopdale Foodbank manager Liz Kearslake, said: "After an early start travelling from Glossop to Wilmslow, people were allocated various jobs such as handing out T-shirts and medals, accounting for and sorting out bags, and directing runners.
"The volunteers were from Glossopdale Foodbank, Start 2 Jog and staff from Hadfield Infant School and together they raised £300 for the Glossopdale Foodbank.
"The initiative came from Start 2 Jog who have nominated Glossopdale Foodbank as their charity of the year."
Run North West donated £25 to the Foodbank for each volunteer taking part.
"It was really good to have this collaborative approach to raising money and a great day out for all those who took part," added Ms Kearslake. "We will be volunteering at other Run North West events and would welcome anyone who would like to join us in the future.
"It’s thanks to events like this and the many others who contribute to us that has enabled Glossopdale Foodbank to supply almost 29,000 meals across the community already this year."
