Fringe Team set to turn Buxton orange

Carole Garner, Linda Rolland, Rob Harrison, Sandra Jowett, and Pam Mason planting an orange Fringe “hot spot” outside the Buxton Opera House.

Buxton Fringe committee members are creating orange Fringe “hot spots” around the town to celebrate this year's event.

The first was created in the planters located in front of the Buxton Opera House as part of preparations for the Fringe which runs from July 6-24 and will features theatre, comedy, music and more.

They are also encouraging others to get involved by creating their own, orange-themed floral displays around the town in the run up to the event.

The Fringe would like to thank the Parks Department, Morrisons for the donation of compost and plants and seeds and also Jo and David Holdway for donating flowers in tribute to the Fringe’s Viv Marriott whose idea it was to create the hot spots.

Participants in the scheme include Day Zero, Scriveners, Lubens, Zink, Water Street Sensory Garden, the Pump Room, The Argyle Care Home, The Pavilion Care Centre, Haddon Hall Care Home, The Hawthorns, Bright Opportunities, Brick Corner and The Green Man Gallery.
