Health Secretary Sajid Javid is to look at a funding bid put forward for a major new healthcare hub in Buxton.
The 3.5-acre site, part of the former Nestle Buxton Water bottling plan, was acquired back in 2018 and outline planning permission secured.
High Peak MP Robert Largan, who raised the issue of access to health services in Parliament, had called on the Health Secretary to prioritise the new healthcare facility in Buxton.
Mr Largan has given his support to what he described as a very strong bid for capital funding to bring the project to fruition, put forward by Derbyshire Community Health Services.
Mr Javid has agreed to meet and said he would look carefully at the bid and confirmed more funding is available for such projects.
Another part of the original water bottling site was acquired by McCarthy and Stone and a residential development for older residents is currently under construction.
