Further rise in Covid-19 cases in the High Peak

Recent figures show the number of Covid cases in the High Peak have seen a further rise of 10.3 per cent. 

According to Public Health England data, the rate rose from 554.9 to 588.3 cases per 100,000 people for the seven days up to 6 October.  

The figure across Derbyshire rose by 13.3 per cent to 532.6 cases per 100,000 people.  

Across the High Peak Borough Council area, there were 545 cases of Covid, a rise of 51, while across the county cases rose by 504 to 4299. 

In neighbouring Tameside, the figures for the same period have seen a slight drop to 466.3 cases per 100,000 with 1059 cases, a fall of 21, or 1.9 per cent.
