Get answers to your questions about domestic abuse

People across Derbyshire will be able to talk about any domestic abuse concerns they may have at a live question and answer session this week.

Specialist officers from Derbyshire Police's domestic abuse unit and its partners from the Elm Foundation will be online on Thursday afternoon (28 January) to talk to anyone with questions or queries about the issue.

People can find out what is considered to be domestic abuse, what support is available or ways it can be reported. Questions can be asked anonymously or privately.

The session will take place between 4pm and 6pm and to join in go to https://www.sli.do/ and enter the event code #YouAreNotAlone.

People are also being reminded that if they have any concerns about domestic abuse in the meantime, they can get in touch with police via the following methods:

• Facebook – send a private message to /DerbyshireConstabulary
• Twitter – direct message the contact centre on @DerPolContact
• Website – complete the online contact form www.derbyshire.police.uk/Contact-Us.
• Phone – call 101.

During the current national lockdown, people may still leave home to avoid or escape risk of injury or harm, such as domestic abuse. But if you, or someone else is in immediate danger always dial 999.
