Chapel Camera Club is inviting people to snap to it and send in their best pictures as they launch the People's Summer Photo Competition.
This new event is for anyone who loves taking photos and entry is now open for images on any subject from family, pets, and holidays, to fun events and nature.
As well as cash prizes, the winners will also have their photographs framed and displayed as part of the camera club’s major exhibition ‘Twenty Twenty ... and beyond’ which will be held at Buxton Museum and Art Gallery in the spring of 2022.
The exhibition will feature photographs taken by Chapel Camera Club members through the pandemic, depicting how they felt, something they had learned, or simply an image they were proud of.
You can enter any number of photographs into the competition provided they are accompanied by the entry fee of £5 per photograph.
For each £5 received, £1 will be donated to the Blythe House Hospicecare charity in Chapel-en-le-Frith.
The images will be judged by award-winning local photographer, Justin Garner, a category winner in the Outdoor Photographer of the Year Competition 2017.
The closing date for entries is Monday, September 6, 2021. With the winners notified by the end of September.
