Give a gift this Christmas

Urgently needed Christmas presents are pouring into a Hayfield woman's home… but they don't stay there for long.

Alice Womack, who lives at The Glade, pops them into her car and drives to Glossop where she drops them off at Crossroads Derbyshire.

Formerly known as High Peak Women’s Aid, the charity has run a Christmas toy and gift appeal for the children and mothers it looks after for as long as staff and volunteers can remember.

Alice, who has joined the team this year, said: “I have a big bag full, quite a lot of donations have come from the parents and children of Hayfield Primary School, but then people are donating from all over the area.”

The scheme runs through a wish list of gift ideas that has been placed on Amazon.

Anyone wanting to donate can contact Alice by Facebook or Instagram to locate the list, they then chose and pay for a gift, which Amazon then delivers to Alice’s home before she takes them to Crossroads Derbyshire in Glossop.
