Glossop Bookfest is back this autumn

This year’s main BookFest event will take place in the Methodist Church, Chapel Street in Glossop, on Saturday 19th October, 1.30-5.00pm.

Local authors and illustrators will be offering their work for sale with signed copies available while the small hall will be dedicated to writing for children.

Experts are offering two workshops in the community lounge, one on “Writing the Life” by Margaret Jones (1.45-2.45 pm) and the other on illustration techniques by Tess Gee (3.45-4.45). Entry to these is free but places are limited, so we recommend early booking.

Glossop writer and poet Johanne Lee will present readings for children in the small hall from 1.30 pm. Dom B an extraordinary poet who has appeared on BBC will run a show for children  from 2 pm and one for adults at 3 pm. Kate Singleton will tell stories in the coffee room from 3 pm.

In addition there will be opportunities for visitors to add to the literary graffiti board and contribute to a collage poem. For young ones there will be face painting and temporary tattoos plus a drawing table and reading corner in the small hall.

Entry is free and anyone wishing to run a stall should apply through the BookFest website -  https://glossopbookfest.co.uk/
