Glossop business issue warning after warehouse burglary

A Glossop business is warning others to be alert after a large amount of items were stolen following a break-in at its warehouse.

The burglary at Forever Love on Surrey Street happened sometime overnight on Wednesday night into Thursday morning this week.

The independent family-run business said on its Facebook page that a window had been taken out and a 'load of stock' had been cleared out before the thieves made a clean getaway.

They added that the business is still open and will be processing customers' orders as soon as possible, once police have finished gathering evidence.

Dave O'Keefe, from Forever Love, said: "They [the thieves] were very careful and seemed to know what they were doing. We just wanted to warn other businesses in the area and ask that if anyone sees large amounts of items for sale in local groups that could be from Forever Love to let us know.

"Most importantly, all of our staff are okay and we can stay open for business."

Forever Love - which specialise in a wide range of products from fragranced candles and scented wax melts to bath bombs and jewellery - is staying upbeat and have been inundated with offers of help, such is the kind-hearted community spirit that exists in Glossopdale.

They added: "Thank you to everyone for your kind words and support today, it’s been so amazing to have everyone reaching out to offer help after our burglary.

"We’re in full swing with repairs and putting our exceptional sweeping skills to use. All with smiles on our faces... We’re not called Forever Love for nothing."

Last month, the gift shop had kindly offered to print out children's school work for free whilst they were learning from home during lockdown - for anyone in the local area who didn't have access to a printer at home.
