
Local campaigners from anti-racist, peace and green groups came together on Saturday (6 November) to call for Climate Justice and for more radical action from world leaders in Glasgow.
After gathering on High Street West in Glossop, they headed into Manchester to join the march and rally there. This was one of dozens of events in cities around the world, with 100,000 marching in Glasgow and a group of scientists taking direct action there.
The High Peak Green New Deal group say their main focus in the coming weeks will be to gather support for a petition calling on the borough's MP Robert Largan to support the Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill.
If the bill became law, it would prompt the government to take urgent practical action to halt carbon emissions and restore our natural environment.
