It's been part of the nightlife in Glossop town centre for almost a decade, but Club HQ has seen its last dance and played its final song.
Owner James Booth has announced that the nightclub on High Street East will not reopen and has therefore permanently closed, just weeks before what would have been the venue's 10th birthday.
It has been closed since 20 March 2020, just before the first lockdown was imposed.
Nightclubs have been forced to remain shut throughout the coronavirus pandemic but were due to reopen on 19 July, after the fourth and final step of the government's roadmap for easing restrictions was delayed by four weeks.
But in a statement on the Club HQ Facebook page, they said they made the decision to "bring the curtain down" with "a heavy heart".
They added that they had "always planned to hand over the baton" and keep the premises as a place for music and dance, but the pandemic has "unfortunately forced our hand against our wishes".
The statement continued: "This (for us, at least) makes the past 10 years under those lights a poignant moment in time we shall always remember. New friendships, new relationships and new lives have all been created through the coming together of new faces within these disjointed four walls.
"We have thrived on the challenge of bringing a City Centre booking policy of international artists to our little backwater in the High Peak.
"We never got the chance to have "one more" so we cast our minds back to our last sub_remote event with Paul Woolford. To be able to showcase such a titan of today's dance music culture was a dream come true for us, only to be levelled by the equally impressive James Zabiela. Both seemed an impossibility taking over on day one at the then loveably archaic Harleys Bar.
"We would like to thank every single member of staff over the years and the small-knit team who gave up so much of their time behind the scenes for this labour of love. Lastly to all those who danced with us, got behind us, and created those memories - thank you."
The popular club used to hold a number of parties and events with musicians throughout the year.
They also gave exclusive use of the venue for free to not-for-profit organisation Life You Choose four times a year to provide a safe and inclusive environment for people with learning or physical disabilities to enjoy a night out.
