Rosie and her dad Matthew will be taking part in the Pooleys Dawn to Dusk challenge this weekend. The aviation challenge was founded some 60 years ago by HRH Prince Philip.
It is a test of airmanship, navigation and flying skill which encourages pilots to fly more than four hours in a day and stretch their abilities.
The duo are doing the challenge in order to raise £1,000 for Centre Stage Glossop to go to a competition in Paris this summer.
Matthew Riddiough Boylan commented: “Many of the youngsters that attend the dance academy are not able to afford the trip to compete in Paris, so we hope to raise enough money to send these very talented youngsters for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete in this international event.”
Rosie and Matthew will be flying more than 700 nautical miles across the country. They are visiting four different airfield museums including York Air Museum, East Kirkby, Duxford Imperial War Museum and Airworld Aviation Museum in Caernarfon.
The trip will also include two stops for fuel at small airfields.
The chosen aircraft has no autopilot, and the whole trip will be flown by hand with Rosie acting as the navigator and copilot. With more than seven hours of manual flying, it’s going to be a real test for both of them.
