Glossop girls join forces to raise money for local charity

Bella, Millie and Naomi who are in year seven, decided to make bracelets and have a bake sale in order to raise money for the Hummingbird Project that is based in Glossop.

Since The Hummingbird Project opened its doors, they have helped thousands of individuals and families by regifting hundreds of tonnes of clothing, uniform, shoes and baby equipment, all donated by the community and given to those in need in the community and those that believe in reusing and recycling.

With a team of around thirty volunteers, the project provides preloved and new items of adult, baby and children's clothing, as well as home furnishings, toiletries, work wear, school uniform and baby items such as prams and cots.

Some of the girls were members of an Enrichment Club at St Luke's Primary School called the Changemakers Club, run by Mrs Anna Shephard. The new headteacher Mrs Rogers in her second year will continue to run the Enrichment Clubs during the day giving all children an opportunity to explore a new interest. Previously clubs were run after school so not everyone got involved but this way, they all get a chance to take part.

Now, the trio have raised £120 which will go towards the items that help the community.
