Glossop is all mapped out for canines

Some of the dog friendly venues in the Glossop area.

A local dog trainer has produced a map of some of the dog friendly venues in the Glossop area.

Nicola Davies, who runs contentedcaninestraining.com, has compiled a list of information for local people and visitors to the area.

She told us: “It’s an idea I’ve had for ages. Now I have compiled the information so people can be aware of which businesses and pubs are dog friendly.

“I also thought it would benefit the local shops as they have suffered a loss of business throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I feel this information would lead to less car journeys.

“If you can take your dog for a walk and then do your shopping straight after it’s to everyone’s advantage.

“It’s something I’ve recommended at my training classes for years as it helps to socialise a puppy taking them to places where there are lots of people and maybe other dogs around.”

Nicola says she has spent months researching and contacting as many businesses as possible, but some venues she contacted did not want to be included on the map. Any businesses that do want to be included can get in touch with her.

Maps will be available locally in the near future.
