Plans that would see a 200-year-old Glossop pub demolished and replaced with new homes have been put forward to the borough council.

The proposals submitted for the Royal Oak Inn on Sheffield Road would see it replaced with two four-bedroomed detached homes and four three-bedroomed semi-detached homes.

The pub was built in 1818 to serve travellers on the Snake Road, which was opened in 1821.
