The move to make Glossopdale School big enough for the number of 11-year-olds who want to enrol there has begun.
Derbyshire County Council has put in a planning application to High Peak Borough Council to expand the complex at Newshaw Lane in Hadfield.
The moves follows controversy last September, when a number of Glossop parents were refused a place at the school for their children because it was already ‘over-subscribed’.
There are proposals to up the number of places from 1,200 to 1,400.
