Glossopdale students raise money for Africa trip

Laura worden and Beth Wakefield, who are both thirteen years old, have decided to raise money by doing an 8 hour dance-a-thon on Friday 3rd November at Hadfield Hall.

The dance-a-thon, which begins at 11am to end at 7pm, is in order to raise funds for an eight day Kenya trip with Glossopdale. The students are set to volunteer at a school in Kenya which provides free education to disadvantaged children in communities with low incomes.

Caroline Worden has expressed how proud she is, saying “We are so proud of the girls they have given up a lot of their time to arrange raffles and plan this big fundraiser.”

She added, “They’ve choreographed a show dance to do every two hours on Friday, we’re asking people to come along for a dance to help keep them going and they can buy coffee and cake. There is a tots hour at 3pm, full of Disney music, face painting and sweets galore. Heatherlea School of Dance and Stardust Dance Centre will be making appearances.”

There will also be a raffle on the day with prizes from local businesses such as Nancy’s nest, Dukes coffee shop and Jakasta.
