Glossop's Covid vaccination hub will be moving

Glossop's vaccination hub will soon be moving - but not very far.

The clinics have been taking place at Glossop Cricket and Bowling Club throughout the pandemic, providing Covid as well as flu vaccines to local residents.

But from 30 October, the centre will no longer be based at the North Road venue.

From 1 November, it will relocate to Unit 2-3 on Glossop Brook Road - directly opposite Glossop North End's Amdec Forklift Stadium.

For people travelling by car, the clinics can be accessed by driving past Tesco. For people travelling on foot, the clinics can be accessed in the same way, or via Surrey Street.

Covid vaccination appointments can be booked by visiting www.tamesideandglossop.nhsvaccinations.co.uk

Meanwhile, Glossop Health Team has also started to roll out Covid-19 booster vaccinations but is urging patients to wait to be contacted by text, phone or letter when they are eligible.

A spokesperson said: "In order to do this safely and effectively, we must all follow the correct guidelines in terms of order and eligibility.

"The way that we are delivering the boosters is slightly different to the way we delivered the first two doses. You will not be called according to your age or health condition, but by the date which you received your second dose."

During September, they were administering boosters to everyone who had their second vaccination on or before 31 March 2021.

This month, they have moved on to everyone who had their second jab on or before 30 April and each month this will move forwards.
