After waiting 19 months, the League of Ladies Women's Institute in Glossop have finally managed to get back to holding their monthly meetings face to face - and the first was certainly one to remember.
In their new home at St Mary's Church Hall on St Mary's Road, the kind-hearted ladies celebrated their September Fayre, which showcases their members' many talents. This year's four categories certainly didn't disappoint!
Ruth Ainsworth, League of Ladies WI president, said: "We had flowers, veggies and plants galore in our home grown, delicious goodies in home baked, sensationally handmade items and a wonderful array of childhood toys.
"But ultimately there could only be one winner so well done to Marion who scooped a double win for her home grown garden flowers and childhood toy Muffin the Mule, Jacque for her delicious five-spiced bread, and Sharon for her beautiful crocheted Alpaca."
There was a surprise and special guest to host the prize giving as Glossop's very own double gold medal Olympian Ben Watson popped in to say hello and sample some cake.
Ruth added: "A wonderful evening was had by all. The last two years have been difficult for everyone however finally coming back together really highlighted the importance of friendship and community, both of which the WI has to offer."
