GP practices to take part in parkrun to celebrate NHS birthday

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the NHS, some of the GP practices across Glossop are taking part in the weekly parkrun on Saturday (8 July) at Manor Park.

Kathryn Ley, the practice manager of Cottage Lane Surgery in Gamesley, says she and her colleagues wanted to take part in the run, not just to celebrate the NHS’s 75th birthday, but to raise awareness of this fantastic local event.

Kathryn says her Gamesley practice has always been heavily involved in the parkrun, often running initiatives encouraging patients to go along and give it a go.

As mentioned, the parkrun is a weekly event, that is completely free, which is great for both mental and physical health.

If you’d like to get involved, get yourself down to Manor Park on Saturday, at 9am.
