The green-fingered ladies from Tintwistle Women's Institute (WI) have been busy helping to make the village look lovely this summer.
Putting in the graft on a warm day, the ladies tidied up, weeded and replaced the old planters at the viewing point on Old Road.
The group were supported with funding from High Peak Borough Council and Tintwistle Parish Council, while local craftsman Tony Hig also made the planters.
Tintwistle borough councillor Rob Baker commented: "Great work by Tintwistle WI to keep our village looking tidy and in bloom. I was delighted to support them with cash from my initiative fund to purchase the new planters which were made for them specially by local craftsman Tony Hig Wood Designs.
"Thanks also to the Parish Council for funding some of the plants. The compost was purchased from Tintwistle Allotment Gardeners' Association (T.A.G.A) so not only do we have a lovely place to sit and enjoy the view, but all the money spent has been recycled back into local businesses and groups as well."
Their work has also received lots of positive comments from local residents on social media.
Earlier this year, WI members made our headlines when they were 'showing the love' during lockdown by making pots of summer flowers to give to villagers.
