Hadfield art to go on show

Hadfield Open Art Show is back this year - after being cancelled in 2020 and 2021 because of coronavirus restrictions.

But this year's show, organised by Friends of Hadfield Hall, is the 10th celebration of artistic creativity from Hadfield and the surrounding area, with an extended programme this year.

Open for a week between Saturday 28 May and Saturday 4 June, it includes the children’s art show at The Craft Barn on Station Road, artists in residence demonstrating their work, the children’s art trail, workshops for children and adults at The Craft Barn and at Hadfield Hall, and talks by Michael and Ghislaine Howard.

Also, for the first time this year, to link with the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, there will be a Pro-Loco outdoor painting competition on Friday 3 June.

For 2022, artists over 16 are invited to create a piece of work within a few hours, outdoors, showing their view of Hadfield.

All entries are then displayed and a winner chosen by public vote.

The High Peak's new Mayor Councillor Ollie Cross and his wife and Mayoress Gill Cross will be viewing the art.
