Hadfield Bowling Club receives huge National Lottery funding grant

Hadfield Bowling Club are celebrating after being awarded almost £20,000 in National Lottery funding to support the completion of their clubhouse project.

The bowling club has 10 teams in various local leagues as well as running social bowling sessions twice a week. These sessions help people to make friends, while learning new skills and having fun. 

The new funding from The National Lottery Community Fund will enable the clubhouse to have washroom facilities and the surroundings to be wheelchair accessible. 

The project which will have cost a total of around £120,000  when it is complete has received assistance from many funding providers for which the club is extremely grateful.

Jayne Armstrong, the finance officer of Hadfield Bowling Club said: “We’re delighted that The National Lottery Community Fund has recognized our work in this way. Now, thanks to National Lottery players we will be able to press on with our plans to broaden the range of opportunities available to bowlers in the area and provide fantastic facilities which match our County Standard Green.” 

David Taylor who is the Chairman at bowling club added: "The award from The National Lottery will enable us to develop a valuable resource for a whole range of people within the local community and promote a sport that can be played and enjoyed by everyone.”
