The managing director of a Hadfield-based firm has been telling High Peak MP Robert Largan how difficult it is to find new premises in the area.
Pressure Tech in Hadfield has seen a 50 per cent increase in orders this year, which has presented its own challenges.
The firm - recognised globally for manufacturing high-quality ISO-9001 accredited pressure regulators for oil and gas applications - has been based on Graphite Way for 15 years and have expanded into industrial units on the same estate twice.
But Managing Director Steve Yorke-Robinson says it’s been difficult to find suitable properties, due to lack of development of industrial facilities in the local area.
He said: “With a long overdue bypass around Glossop expected to improve traffic congestion in the next three years, and house building continuing to develop at a fast rate, the lack of commercial property in the area needs to be addressed to help support local employers with their expansion plans, and to ultimately, employ more local residents.”
The visit also provided the opportunity for the MP to see Pressure Tech’s success in the Green Hydrogen Fuel Cell market, with a recent order secured for 2,000 pressure regulators being exported to a key customer in the USA.
