Hadfield Post Office is definitely on the move

The current location of the Post Office on Station Road in Hadfield.

The Post Office has confirmed that Hadfield Post Office is to move to the Nisa Hadfield Store at 83 to 85 Station Road and introduce longer opening hours.

The changes follow a decision by the current postmaster to resign and the existing premises at 120-122 Station Road being withdrawn.

When the proposals were first announced, a public consultation was launched and changes have been made in light of comments made over internal space and counter position.

The branch will now offer two low-screened counters and the Post Office say it will be working closely with the new operator on the internal layout of the store.

Sarah Cottrell, Network Provision Manager for Post Office Limited, said: “I would like to thank everyone who took the time to let us have their comments and provide information.

“After careful consideration of the feedback received, we remain confident that the layout and location of the new branch will continue to meet customer needs and deliver an excellent service, whilst securing the long-term viability of Post Office services in the local community.

“We’re currently making the final arrangements for the move and further information will be provided in branch once the dates have been agreed.”

The main, screened, counter is expected to be open Monday to Friday: 9am – 6pm; Saturday: 9am – 2pm.

The Post Office service point, selling selected services, would be available Monday to Saturday: 7am – 9pm; Sunday: 7.30am – 8.30pm.
