The Norfolk Arms is set to host Glossop’s first LGBTQ+ night with a Halloween spectacular on Friday October 25.
“This night will feel just like any ordinary Friday night at the Norfolk Arms—just with a little more drag!” says event co-organiser Jamie Laing, who has stressed that the evening will be welcoming to all.
“By keeping the atmosphere familiar and open, we hope to bring together communities that are often siloed from one another, creating an event that welcomes everyone, no matter their background.
“We’re even hoping to have some RuPaul’s drag race girls performing, but we can’t confirm names yet unfortunately.”
Carol Midgeley, landlady of the Norfolk Arms is fully behind the night, and wants to promote a “fun, inclusive space” for everyone in Glossop, whether they are part of the LBGTQ+ community or not.
The Glossop LGBTQ+ group also hosts monthly film screenings, with The Rocky Horror Picture Show playing on Saturday October 26 at Glossop Labour Club.
