After not having her hair cut for two years, Hayfield youngster Harriet Bagshaw braved the chop last weekend to raise a fantastic amount for charity.
Last Saturday (22 October), the 11-year-old had 16 inches of hair taken off which will go towards a new wig.
As well as donating her hair, Harriet has also been raising sponsorship to support The Little Princess Trust charity as each wig costs £550 to make.
The charity use real hair to create wigs for children who have lost their hair to cancer or another condition in a bid to help restore their confidence and identity.
To date, she has smashed her initial target to raise over £2,900 and her JustGiving page is still open at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Harriet-Bagshaw for donations.
Harriet’s mum Kirsten said they have been blown away by the support that has been shown.
