Getting ready for the chop is Hayfield youngster Harriet Bagshaw, who is having her hair cut on Saturday – the first time in two years.
It is all to help The Princess Trust charity that use real hair to create wigs for children who have lost their hair to cancer or another condition in a bid to help restore their confidence and identity.
As well as donating her hair, Harriet is also raising sponsorship to support the charity as each wig costs £550 to make.
So far Harriet’s efforts have smashed their initial target and seen more than £2,800 donated.
It is not too late to get involved. Anyone who would like to give a donation can do so at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/harriet-bagshaw
