Gamesley borough councillor Anthony Mckeown is asking local residents for their help in getting rid of local grot spots and areas in need of some tidying.
The plea coincides with Keep Britain Tidy's national Great British Spring Clean which runs from 28 May to 13 June.
Cllr Mckeown said: "In some parts of our area, there are those corners where over Covid for one reason or another, no one has spotted fly-tipped or dumped rubbish - or they've been missed from grass cutting or other clear ups.
"Over the next few months, we should be getting started on some environmental improvements works that were planned pre-Covid, and I want to make sure we are tackling the right places, problems and anything missed in recent month.
"As I'm getting back walking more myself after been in hospital last year, I'm spotting some, but it will take me a little while to get everywhere, and you help can get these issues dealt with quicker."

Any issues about fly tipping can also be reported directly to High Peak Borough Council at www.highpeak.gov.uk.
