High Peak MP Jon Pearce Welcomes New Baby Girl

High Peak’s Member of Parliament, Jon Pearce, and his wife Charlotte are celebrating the birth of their baby girl.

High Peak’s Member of Parliament, Jon Pearce, and his wife Charlotte are celebrating the birth of their baby girl. Both mum and baby are doing well following the arrival of their new addition.

Jon Pearce is believed to be the first MP for High Peak to welcome a child while in office. Expressing his joy, Jon Pearce MP said:

"My wife Charlotte and I are thrilled and can’t thank our amazing NHS and its wonderful staff enough for all they have done for us over the last nine months."

Jon also announced that he will be taking two weeks of paternity leave to spend time with his family. Despite his time away from Westminster, he reassured constituents that his parliamentary duties would not be neglected:

"I'll be having two weeks of paternity leave now so that I don't have to be down in Westminster during the week away from my family, but rest assured I will still be able to vote on your behalf via a new proxy system (where another MP can vote on my behalf). This is a great leap forward for mums and dads in public service in parliament."

During his leave, Jon’s constituency office will remain operational, ensuring that his team is available to assist constituents.

"Whilst I’m on paternity leave, my dedicated staff will still be hard at work serving the people of High Peak. If you need help, please email Jon.Pearce.MP@parliament.uk, call 01298 918189, or visit www.jon4highpeak.com."

Jon also confirmed that while his time will largely be spent with family, he will fulfil a small number of local commitments in the constituency, including attending the Remembrance Sunday commemorations.

The Glossop Chronicle congratulates Jon and Charlotte on their new arrival and wishes them all the best during this special time.
