High Peak MP launches Christmas card competition

High Peak MP Robert Largan is once again running a Christmas card design competition for local school children.

The local MP says he's trying to be environmentally friendly by not sending out a paper Christmas card.

Instead, he will be sending out an e-card and donating what he would have spent to a local charity, which this year is the Thomas Theyer Foundation.

Mr Largan says he wants his e-card to 'reflect the best of High Peak and to showcase the creativity of local schoolchildren'.

The competition is open to all children under the age of 13, with the winning design being sent out to over 7,000 local residents who get his email newsletter.

There’s no criteria for the design. It might be about High Peak or Christmas or something completely different.

The form on which to design the card is available at www.robertlargan.co.uk/xmascard. Entries can be posted to the MP’s constituency office: Robert Largan MP, 18 Market Street, Whaley Bridge, SK23 7LP.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 1 December 2021.

Robert Largan MP commented: “I’m once again doing my bit to be environmentally friendly by not sending a paper Christmas card and donating the cost to support fantastic local charity, the Thomas Theyer Foundation. But I also want my e-card to look great and showcase the creativity of local children.

“Following the success of last year’s competition, I’m looking forward to seeing what the children of High Peak come up with this year!”
