The latest planning applications affecting the High Peak are summarised in our comprehensive round-up.

New Applications 

A number of planning applications have been submitted to High Peak Borough Council, which include: 

• Proposed change the use of the building from B2 to E(d) on storage land to the rear of Albion Road, New Mills 
• Demolition of existing single storey flat roof structure and a side and rear single storey extensions at Linden Lea, West Drive, Tintwistle 
• Retrospective application to install 1x 42" LCD media screen size-860(W)x2160(H)mm Screen size-530(W)x930(H) mm 2no x 1250mm x 700mm flag pole signs, overall 2450mm in height at Tesco store in Bridgemont, Whaley Bridge. 
• Addition of a single storey glass roof located on the rear elevation of the property in the private garden of 1A Horderns Road, Chapel-en-le-Frith 

Plans approved 

Plans that have been given the go-ahead and approved by High Peak Borough Council include: 

• Proposed Rear dormer loft conversion and new store/garage and fence adjacent highway at 1 Hawk Road, New Mills 
• Single storey rear extension at 13 Haydn Fold, Charlesworth 
• Replacment of former school classroom with new dwelling at Talbot House, Talbot Manor, Talbot Road, Glossop 
• Conversion of existing dwelling to form two dwellings at Elizabeth Cottage, Woodseats Lane, Charlesworth 
• Residential development including drives and garages. Demolition of stone bungalow and old garage at 42 Elnor House, Elnor Lane, Whaley Bridge 

Plans for new coffee shop 

Plans have been submitted for a new dessert parlour and coffee shop in the centre of Glossop.

House plans rejected 

Plans to demolish a garage and replace it with a two-storey property over a basement garage have been refused by High Peak Borough Council. 

The proposals at 1 Higher Dinting, Dinting, Glossop have been rejected as due to its scale, size and siting it would have a detrimental impact on a neighbouring property in particular loss of light, overshadowing and overbearing impact. 

The development did not provide sufficient off-street parking spaces and insufficient information had been submitted to demonstrate that the proposal would provide sufficient bin storage.  

Plans withdrawn 

Two applications submitted to High Peak Borough Council have been withdrawn by the applicants. 

They are for: 

• Raised decking to the rear of 27 Long Lane, Charlesworth with storage underneath 
• Single storey timber orangery to the rear of The Coach House, Ollerenshaw Hall, Eccles Road, Whaley Bridge
