Plans for a holiday lodge complex to be built on the outskirts of Glossop look set to be approved – despite more than 100 comments raising objections.
The revised application is for 12 luxury tourist lodges and a spa lodge together with an associated reception building, to be installed on a 1.1-hectare site at The Stables, The Heath, Glossop.
A decision is to be made by High Peak Borough Council’s Development Control Committee on Monday with the application recommended for approval subject to conditions.
In the application, Unique Holiday Stays Ltd say the development will help meet an ongoing need for visitor accommodation and would benefit the local area.
Concerns raised include residential amenity, highway safety, surface water management and flood risk.
The report states that following feedback relating to impacts on neighbour amenity, the layout of the scheme and design, including 1.7m privacy screens have been added to reduce overlooking.
It adds that the amendments made mean it is now considered to be an acceptable development that would support the objectives of the local plan in relation to economic development and in particular development of the tourism economy.
The Development Control Committee meeting will be held at the Pavilion Gardens on Monday 7 November at 1.30pm.
