Join in the fun at Charlesworth and Chisworth Carnival

It's that time of year when carnival fever sweeps through the High Peak and this weekend it's the turn of Charlesworth and Chisworth.

On Saturday (8 July), the Carnival procession leaves St Margaret's School in Gamesley at 12:30pm, winding its way through the village to arrive at the Village Green at around 1.15pm.

The new Carnival Royalty will then be crowned before they fire the starting gun on the annual senior and junior fell races.

The day on Charlesworth Village Green promises to be a huge hit, with lots of the usual attractions and some brand new additions. There will also be a selection of food and drink available to purchase on the day, suitable for all tastes.

The scarecrow competition is also back with a bang. This year's scarecrow theme is Purple or Coronation and trail maps are available on the Charlesworth and Chisworth Carnival website and social media pages to see the creations first hand.
