Meetings are taking place to decide how Tintwistle residents can celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
In line with the national plans, on Thursday 2 June at 9.09pm, a beacon will be lit up at the Cenotaph.
The Parish Council hopes Tintwistle brass bands can be there and as many residents as possible.
On Sunday 5 June, the proposed day for community lunches across the country, The Big Tintwistle Jubilee Picnic and Summer Market will take place from 11am to 5pm.
Cllr Emily Scriven will be organising one of her very successful markets and the Sexton Street fields will be available for family picnics and other activities.
Over 20 stalls, food, drink, ice cream and entertainment are planned for what is expected to be a great day out for all the family.
