Katie McEwan is Glossop’s ‘Greatest Loser’ after losing more than six stone in just a year

Katie McEwan is Glossop’s ‘Greatest Loser’ after losing more than six stone in just a year.

In January 2023, 25-year-old Katie weighed around 19 stone, four pounds. She wanted to get fit as she was classed as overweight, but her upcoming wedding in May was another incentive driving her to try and improve her overall fitness.

She had found herself getting increasingly more out of breath when doing day to day activities, and this inspired her to take the plunge and get her fitness life back on track.

Now, Katie weighs 12 stone, six pounds – an achievement that bagged her the ‘Woman of the Year’ award at Glossop’s Slimming World, as well as earning the ‘Greatest Loser’ certificate.

As well as attending the gym and playing squash with her friends, Katie attends Slimming World which has encouraged her to eat healthier and get fitter.

Slimming World Consultant, Elizabeth Winterbottom, commented on Katie’s journey: “I’m so very proud of Katie. Her achievements are amazing. My passion as a Slimming World Consultant is to support my members to their dream target weight a week at a time.

“I’ve realised that anyone who joins has a wide variety of weight loss goals, all of which are just as valid and important as each other’s, and the help is there for absolutely everybody.”
