Kids told to keep clear of The Crescent

A gang of youths have been ‘given advice’ by police after reports of anti-social behaviour outside a town centre hotel at the weekend.

The area around the Grade-I listed Crescent Hotel in Buxton has become a magnet for teenagers in recent months, with staff at the neighbouring Old Hall Hotel being targeted by four masked people in December.

Officers stepped up their usual patrols over recent days and spoke to a group outside The Crescent.

A spokesperson for the Derbyshire Constabulary said: “Officers engaged with a number of children and gave them advice on areas more appropriate to hang out with their friends.

“In the meantime, we are continuing to work with the hotel, local agencies and complete proactive patrols at the times in which the ASB is reported to address concerns in and around The Crescent Hotel.”
